How to Create a ChanTan Studio Account
Sign up for ChanTan Studio in four short steps, then understand the closed-beta waiting screen — what it means, what to do, and when your free credits arrive.
Creating an account takes about a minute. Then comes the part that surprises people: ChanTan Studio is in closed beta, so a person approves your account before you can build.
That's a real block, not just a message — but there's nothing you have to do about it.
ℹ️ Email and password is the only way to create an account today. There is no "Sign up with Google" and no "Sign up with GitHub". (GitHub still works as a way to save your projects later — that's a separate thing.)
1. Open the sign-up page
Go to chantan.studio/onboarding in your browser. If you're on the sign-in page instead, press "Create your account" at the bottom — it takes you to the same place.
If you'd rather read it in another language, the language switcher sits in the top-right corner — you can change it before you have an account.
2. Give your first name
The next step asks "What should we call you?" and reassures you: "First name is all we need."
Type it and continue.
3. Fill in your email and password
The last step is "Create your account": your email, a password, the password again to confirm, and a tick-box security check.
⚠️ The real minimum is 8 characters. The box still says "Password (6+ characters)", but that hint is out of date: the form refuses anything shorter than 8 and shows "Use at least 8 characters." Type 8 or more and it goes straight through.
The "Create account" button stays greyed out until the tick-box check passes.
The email opt-in — "Email me product tips and project reminders. Optional; unsubscribe anytime." — is entirely optional.
4. Press "Create account"
✅ Done. You land straight on the waiting screen, showing "Account created" and "You're on the list, {your name}."
If you refreshed by accident anywhere in those steps, your answers and your place in the flow were remembered. Your password is never stored while you type.
What the waiting screen means
The screen explains it plainly: Chantan is in closed beta, and sign-ups are running well ahead of capacity, so access opens in small batches — that way every build stays fast instead of everyone getting a slow one.
It also tells you "Your spot is saved."
What you should do: nothing.
- There is no form to fill in and no queue to join.
- The screen checks itself every 45 seconds and unlocks on its own the moment you're approved.
- "Check now" forces an immediate check if you're impatient.
- You can close the tab and sign in again later — your place is kept.
- Nothing is charged while you wait.
How long does approval take?
ChanTan does not promise a time and does not show your position in a queue. It only says access opens in small batches and your spot is saved.
If it's been unusually long, write to [email protected].
When you're approved
You get an email titled "You're in — your Chantan Studio access is approved 🎉" with a "Start building →" button.
If welcome credits were added to your account, they landed in your wallet right after sign-up — one welcome per person, decided automatically. The amount you see in your wallet is always the real amount, never a promise.
ℹ️ Balance still 0? Then no welcome applied to this account (they are one per person). Nothing is owed or pending — buying a top-up is the way to add credits.
If something goes wrong
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| The "Create account" button stays greyed out | The tick-box security check hasn't passed yet — tick it again |
| "The verification check couldn't load (an ad-blocker may be blocking it)." | Pause your ad-blocker for this site, then press "Try again" |
| "Verification is unavailable. Please try again later." | The check is down for everyone — try later |
| "Account suspended" | Only support can change this — write to [email protected] |
| The approval email never arrives | Check spam. The waiting screen still unlocks by itself, so sign in and look |
Honest limits
- Account and security emails are in English only today — the approval email, password reset emails and email-change confirmations. The rest of the app is translated into English, العربية, Français, Español and ไทย.
- There is no way to skip the beta queue, and no paid fast-track.
- You can change your email later from Settings → Account, so a typo now isn't permanent.
